    What is the Festival of
    the lights in OSAKA

    "Midousuji Illumination" shines Midosuji Ave., the main street of Osaka.
    "OSAKA Hikari-Renaissance" illuminates Nakanoshima,
    the symbol of aqua metropolis Osaka. Besides these two core programs, Area program present fantastic and dazzling nights at many locations in Osaka Prefecture.

    Midosuji Illumination

    This year, the event will be held in April to coincide with the opening of the Expo, with the theme of ""A symbolic street of light that connects to a bright future."" A variety of light spots will be featured, including the Umeda Air Intake Tower lit up in Expo colors, projection bidding at Kita-Mido and Minami-Mido, and an ""Art Street of Light"" displaying ""Boxes of Light"" artworks.
    The tree illuminations will light up the entire area in a mix of colors to represent the growth of the city.

    Osaka City Hall Illumination Facade

    A light program will be implemented that makes use of the waterfront scenery that spreads across Nakanoshima, the symbol of the water city of Osaka. This year, in April, some content will be specially lit up along with the Midosuji illuminations to coincide with the opening of the Expo.
    The illuminated façade that lights up the front of City Hall will project videos using 3D mapping LEDs as part of a special Expo program, and on the south side of City Hall, a fantastic tunnel of light created by trees and arches will welcome you.
